Match report

Swansea City moved to the top of the Championship after a 2-1 comeback win at Lincoln City. Reeco Hackett-Fairchild's 39th-minute penalty gave Lincoln the lead, but Moussa Yeo equalised two minutes after the restart and Stephen Eustaquio completed the turnaround four minutes later.

Four minutes change the match

Melker Widell drove a low cross into the area for Yeo to finish from close range on 47 minutes. Eustaquio then scored the first Swansea goal of his spell at the club, striking from Elijah Just's lay-off with the aid of a deflection.

Swansea win without controlling the numbers

Lincoln had 58% possession and took 13 shots to Swansea's 10, while both sides put four attempts on target. Swansea needed Lawrence Vigouroux to make three saves, but the visitors protected the lead through a period of Lincoln pressure and took all three points.

Swansea City named Anthony Backhouse as referee and recorded an attendance of 10,559, including 1,201 away supporters. The club report said the win moved Swansea to the summit of the early Championship table.

Matos praises the work behind the comeback

Vitor Matos described the result as a “special win” after Swansea handled Lincoln’s physical approach and set pieces. “Then we showed the proper collective effort as a team to make sure we were able to get the result,” the Swansea head coach told the club. The victory moved Swansea to 17 points from eight Championship matches.
