Privacy
What we hold, and where
Cover Wales uses Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies such as _ga to count visits and build reports across sessions, and Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without a profile of you. There is no ad tech. We do not sell, share, or enrich any of it. Turn cookies off in your browser, or use Google's opt-out add-on, to stop the Analytics cookies.
The profile form saves your name, email and reading preferences in this browser’s local storage. Clear this site’s browser data to remove them. If you separately join the newsletter, we store your email and signup status. When the newsletter connection is active, we send the address to Buttondown, our email provider. Buttondown sends a confirmation request before the address becomes active. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
News tips are stored in Cover Wales' database for editorial assessment. You can leave your name and email blank. If you provide contact details, we use them only to check the tip unless you agree otherwise. Do not use the form when disclosure would put you at immediate risk; email the desk first to arrange a safer channel.
Signing in uses your email or a Google or X account solely to keep you signed in. Public comments are currently paused. We do not sell, share, or enrich any of it.
To have anything connected to your account removed, email the desk and it goes. The address is on the contact page.
