Match report
Wrexham’s unbeaten away start in the Championship ended with a 6-0 defeat at West Ham United, who scored through six different players at the London Stadium. Wrexham had conceded one goal across the previous three league trips. West Ham scored twice before half-time and added four more after the break.
Jarrod Bowen put West Ham ahead on 28 minutes and Joel Piroe made it 2-0 on 37. The third goal came three minutes into the second half, through Konstantinos Mavropanos. Taty Castellanos scored the fourth on 63 minutes, before substitute Mohamadou Kante added another on 76 and Manor Solomon completed the scoring on 82.
Four changes with Wrexham four down
Phil Parkinson made four substitutions on 67 minutes, with the score already 4-0. Issa Kaboré replaced Danny Imray, Kieffer Moore came on for Sam Smith, Matty James replaced George Dobson and Dominic Hyam took over from Joe Worrall. West Ham had brought Kyle Walker-Peters on for Joël Veltman in the first half; Kante replaced Piroe on 68 minutes before scoring.
The defeat followed a draw at Cardiff City, a win at Millwall and a goalless draw at Swansea City in Wrexham’s first three away league games. Those trips had produced five points and just one goal conceded. Wrexham’s second league defeat leaves Parkinson’s side on seven points from seven matches. West Ham move to 14 points from seven games.
Possession did not bring chances
Wrexham had 47% possession but managed eight shots, with one on target. West Ham had 19 attempts and nine on target. The gap was also evident inside the penalty area: West Ham took 13 shots from inside the box to Wrexham’s four.

How we verified this
- League totals independently recomputed from all 69 fixtures in the API-Football Championship pool fetched 10 September 2026 at 04:33 UTC. Eighteen clubs have played six games and six have played five.
- Fifteen clubs have lost a home league game. Five remain unbeaten away, all from three away matches: West Ham United, Bristol City, Sheffield United, QPR and Wrexham.
- Wrexham have conceded one goal in three away league games, fewest among the 21 clubs with three trips. Birmingham City now have three conceded from three away games.
- Four draws is the maximum and is shared by Wrexham, Cardiff City and Birmingham City, all after six games. West Ham United and Southampton share the highest goals total, 14.
- Current table rows put West Ham second with 11 points and Wrexham 14th with seven. No goal, match result or team selection has changed for either side in this update.
- 11 September team-news addition written from the updated pack and the full Wrexham AFC article retrieved through its public first-party news endpoint. Eight weeks is the club-reported recovery estimate. Rathbone and Hyam face late tests; Sheaf and Windass are available, not confirmed starters. No crowd projection added.
- Confirmed lineups top-up: Sky Sports full HTTP team sheet reopened by the writer. Player initials retained in the XI field to match the source. No formation, injury inference from selection, change count, score or in-play status added. Previous preview sections, updates and provider blob preserved.
- Confirmed-XI supplement independently passed fact, numbers, reader and picture reviews on 11 September 2026. Review scope is the selection addition, not the older preview statistics. Evidence artifacts/match-20260911-xi/.
- Half-time supplement only: score, both scorers and minutes and API-Football half-time statistics from artifacts/match-20260911-live/research2100.json and matchStats-2100.json. No full-time result, table outcome, new referee or quote claimed.
- Half-time addition independently passed fact and numbers reviews; reader wording simplified to dated half-time account. Both scorer names and minutes complete. Existing preview pictures inspected in three sizes. Evidence artifacts/match-20260911-live/*review2100.json.
- New third goal during filing caught before push: separate researcher, writer, factual and numbers passes confirmed Mavropanos48 and3-0. Live state and all scorers updated; no final result implied.
- Post-file form refresh incorrectly treated the ongoing match as a completed win/loss. Pre-match formGuide restored before publication; no live result admitted into completed form. Follow up enrich-form status filtering.
- Full-time report replaces preview and live prose after explicit FT confirmation. Original draft preserved at artifacts/match-20260911-live/pre-ft-draft-history.json. No attendance, referee or quote added. Full-time image review and final fresh blob still required before filing.
