Willock returns as Cardiff name the team to face Watford

Chris Willock returns to Cardiff City’s starting line-up against Watford on Tuesday night, with Callum Robinson moving to the bench. Brian Barry-Murphy has made one change from the team that faced Blackburn Rovers at the weekend. The Championship match at Cardiff City Stadium kicks off at 7.45pm on 13 October. Perry Ng captains Cardiff.

A difficult away run, but a strong Cardiff record

Cardiff’s official preview says Watford have lost eight of the last nine away league games. Both of Watford’s two league wins this season have come at home. That recent away record contrasts with Watford’s unbeaten run at Cardiff since 2012. The club preview puts the visitors one point ahead of Cardiff going into the game. Watford have scored seven goals in nine league fixtures, with Amin Nabizada accounting for three. Those are the figures in Cardiff’s official opposition preview, rather than a prediction of tonight’s result.

Cardiff’s confirmed team

Starting XI: Trott, Bagan, Osho, Moylan, Tanner, Willock, Robertson, J. Colwill, Ng (captain), Ashford, Lawlor. Substitutes: Tyrer, Fish, Turnbull, Scanlon, Davies, Moreno, Kpakio, Robinson, Holt.
