A489 reopens at Newtown: the crash closure has cleared

The A489 between Newtown and the A470 interchange is open again. Traffic Wales listed the road as shut in both directions after a collision this afternoon, with a diversion running. The closure has since come off the live alerts board, which is how Traffic Wales records an incident that has been cleared.
Traffic Wales gave no reopening time and has not said what caused the collision. Dyfed-Powys Police has not issued a statement about it.

A Met Office yellow thunderstorm warning covers the whole of Wales until 23:59 tonight, listing spray and standing water among the hazards for drivers, along with hail and frequent lightning.
