Adam Price is visiting Boston from 12 to 16 October to develop Wales’ trade and investment links in artificial intelligence and technology, the Welsh Government says. The Cabinet Minister for Enterprise, Connectivity and Energy is due to meet Sublime Systems, a low-carbon cement business, and Microchip Technology, which has a semiconductor base in Caldicot. Meetings with life-sciences and energy companies are also planned.

Meetings, rather than a completed deal

Price will attend a ministerial summit of the Disruptive & Emerging Technologies Alliance, a network of 21 governments that includes Wales as a founding member. His programme also includes a Harvard Growth Lab talk and engagement with the Welsh diaspora. The announcement, issued late on 11 October, sets out the visit’s aims. It does not name an agreed investment sum, a signed deal or a confirmed number of jobs. Those would need separate evidence when any outcome is announced.
