Journalists, faith representatives, students and academics are being invited to a free event at Bangor University on Monday 2 November. Creating Connections: Religion and the Media in Wales runs from 1.30pm to 6pm in Powis Hall.

What is planned

The Religion Media Centre is hosting the event with the university’s Philosophy, Ethics and Religion subject area and the National Centre of Religious Education for Wales. Sessions will examine religious life in Wales, news coverage and the relationship between communities and newsrooms.

Speakers and booking

The university’s 15 October announcement lists Bishop of Bangor Dr Manon Ceridwen James, Anglesey Druid Order chief Kristoffer Hughes, Church in Wales minister Glyn Wise and former Daily Post editor Alison Gow among contributors. Bangor academics and students will also take part.

Before attending

The university gives the venue postcode as LL57 2DG and links to Eventbrite for free tickets. Organisers describe the programme as developing, so check the booking information for the latest arrangements. The Religion Media Centre first advertised the event in September; this is the university’s latest programme announcement.
