Cancer Research Wales has been named organisation of the year in the Welsh Charity Awards 2026, according to the winners announced by organiser WCVA. The charity took the category sponsored by The Open University in Wales. Its fellow finalists were Awel Aman Tawe, Calan DVS, Domestic Abuse Safety Unit North Wales and Seren Ffestiniog Cyf.

Health charities among the winners

Eye to Eye Counselling won the health and wellbeing award. Single Parents Wellbeing and Tanio were finalists in that category. Autism Puzzles, trading as AP Cymru The Neurodiversity Charity, was named champion of diversity. These are separate categories: Cancer Research Wales won the overall organisation title, while Eye to Eye Counselling received the health and wellbeing recognition.

Recognition for voluntary organisations

WCVA published its winners announcement on 16 October and named Hilton Cardiff as the venue. Other organisational categories in the announcement cover fundraising, use of the Welsh language and the most influential small organisation. WCVA also published individual volunteer awards. The full category results are available in WCVA’s announcement.
