Wales national awards nominations open until 4 December
Nominations are open for the 2027 Gwobr Dewi Sant national awards, with entries closing at midnight on 4 December 2026. The awards recognise people, groups and organisations with a meaningful connection to Wales.
Who can be nominated?
Nominees do not need to live in Wales or hold UK citizenship. Anyone can nominate, including themselves. Most categories require nominees to be at least 16; the Young Person category covers ages 11 to 19. Awards are not made posthumously.
Choose the category and give evidence
Ten categories accept public nominations, covering areas including community work, culture, sport, volunteering and public service. Business Wales issued a call on 25 September for business and innovation nominations, highlighting job creation and useful new products, services and ideas. The nomination should explain what the person or group achieved, using specific examples. Supporting letters are optional but must arrive by the same deadline.
How to enter
Use the Welsh Government awards form online, or download a form to return by email or post. Online applicants can save their progress and receive an email receipt after submission. The ceremony is scheduled for 17 June 2027.
