PeoplePlus named preferred Wales partner for Jobs Guarantee

DWP’s selection remains subject to signed grant agreements. The planned scheme offers six-month paid jobs to eligible young people facing long-term unemployment.

PeoplePlus Group Ltd has been named as the Department for Work and Pensions’ preferred delivery partner for the Wales area of the national Jobs Guarantee rollout. The list was added to GOV.UK on 21 October. DWP says the selections remain subject to the signing of grant funding agreements, so the announcement is not confirmation that a final agreement has been signed or that the Wales-wide service has opened.

Who the planned scheme is for

The Jobs Guarantee is intended to provide six-month paid jobs for eligible 18 to 24-year-olds who have been on Universal Credit and looking for work for 18 months. DWP says national rollout will begin later in 2026, across 25 delivery areas. Its expectation of supporting more than 90,000 young people over three years is for the scheme overall; the announcement does not give a separate Wales allocation.

National rollout and Phase One are different

The new preferred-partner list concerns national rollout. DWP’s existing Phase One information separately names Itec Training Solutions Ltd for Southwest and Southeast Wales. The new list does not say that the earlier arrangements have ended. The 13 July deadline on the guidance page was for organisations seeking delivery funding, rather than a deadline for young people applying for a job. The update does not provide a confirmed national start date or a Wales-wide list of available placements. The next checks are whether the grant agreement is signed and when the Wales service publishes participation arrangements.
