Employers can meet organisations offering help with hiring, training and retention at Venue Cymru on 12 November. The organisers’ survey findings point to both recruitment difficulties and a gap in access to support.

Recruitment problems, and difficulty finding help

The organisers report that 68% of businesses in their survey experienced recruitment difficulties and 56% struggled to upskill or train staff. Only three in ten employers said they knew where to find information about training, development and funding opportunities. The announcement does not give the survey’s sample size or fieldwork dates. Those figures describe the reported survey findings, rather than a count of every business in North Wales.

Who it is for and how to attend

The invitation is aimed at people responsible for, or able to influence, their organisation’s workforce. Employers in any sector can bring their challenges and discuss support, referrals and follow-up help. The announced programme includes Great British Energy-Nuclear, Rolls-Royce SMR and Griffiths Civil Engineering discussing apprenticeships and talent development, alongside young people’s experiences of entering work. Employers can reserve a place using the booking link in Ambition North Wales’s official announcement, linked below. Bringing a specific recruitment, retention or training problem should help focus those conversations.
