Peanut-bar recall includes Sainsbury’s stores in Wales

A peanut-allergen recall now includes selected Sainsbury’s stores in Wales, the Food Standards Agency has confirmed in an updated alert published on 14 October. Halo Foods is recalling Skinny Crunch Light Peanut Butter Bars because the bars were packed in Skinny Whip Toffee wrappers. Those individual wrappers do not declare peanuts, creating a possible health risk for anyone with a peanut allergy.

Check the batch, not just the box
The affected pack contains five 20g bars. The batch code is 6238, with the time marking 08:30 to 10:30, and the best-before date is August 2027. The company’s customer notice says the outer packaging and the bars are correct, but the individual film wrappers say toffee whip. The mismatch is therefore inside the pack. Check the batch, time and best-before date together.
Return affected packs
The FSA advises anyone who has bought the affected product not to eat it and to return it to the shop for a full refund. The updated alert lists selected Sainsbury’s stores in England and Wales, and selected Asda stores in England and Scotland. It does not name individual Welsh branches. The recall does not establish that every Sainsbury’s store stocked the affected batch. The official customer notice, linked from the FSA alert below, includes a pack photograph and the identifying codes.

Where this sits
The outer box correctly identifies peanut butter bars while the individual wrappers say toffee whip, so the allergen omission is on the individual wrapper.
Welsh supply is listed for selected Sainsbury’s stores; the Asda supply described in this alert is in England and Scotland.
