An adoption appeal published by Wrexham Council puts the number of children waiting for adoptive families across Wales at 310. What the figures cover
The figures are reported in the council’s 20 October appeal, which refers to the National Adoption Service for Wales campaign. The publication does not give a separate census date for the waiting total or exact observation and comparison dates. The figures describe enquiries and children waiting, rather than completed adoptions. The two percentage changes concern different measures and should not be treated as a direct measure of the chances of any individual family being matched.
North Wales information sessions
North Wales Adoption Service, a partnership of the region’s six councils, has online question-and-answer sessions on Wednesday 21 October. A Welsh-language session starts at 5pm and an English-language session at 6pm. The council gives nwasmarketingrecruitment@wrexham.gov.uk as the booking contact. A further advice event is planned at Mostyn Champneys Retail Park in Llandudno on Thursday 22 October. The appeal does not give a time for that event.
