Wales women’s decisive Norway play-off leg confirmed for Oslo

The return match is at Ullevaal Stadion on 5 December, kicking off at 4pm GMT. Winning the tie would still leave qualification dependent on the ranking of play-off winners.

How qualification would work

Rhian Wilkinson’s side reached this round by beating Albania over two legs. Success against Norway would not by itself guarantee a place at the 2027 World Cup in Brazil. The FAW says the seven highest-ranked winners in this second play-off round qualify directly. The eighth-ranked winner advances to the inter-confederation play-offs in February 2027 for another chance to reach the finals. Wales therefore need to win the tie, with the ranking of round winners then determining the route.

Tickets and television

Tickets for the Cardiff first leg are available through the FAW’s ticketing website. Away-ticket information for Oslo will be announced later, so the venue confirmation should not be read as an away-ticket sale announcement. Both matches will be shown live on BBC Wales, according to the FAW. The Oslo ground is the home of Norway’s women’s and men’s national teams. Supporters planning travel should use the confirmed local time and check subsequent official ticket arrangements.
