Withybush Hospital's adult Same Day Emergency Care service is moving to refurbished accommodation on Monday 14 September, freeing its former space for a children's outpatient facility. Patients need a referral to use the adult service; it is not a walk-in service.

Hywel Dda University Health Board announced the move on 11 September alongside its £750,000 investment in the Puffin facility, planned within the main hospital building. It will have six consultation rooms and a rapid-access clinic offering assessment within 72 hours of referral by a GP or another healthcare professional. The children's clinic will not provide emergency care.

Designs are complete, but building work is expected after a contractor is appointed through tender. The board expects the facility to open in spring 2027; it has not given an opening day.
