Wrexham Women won 3-1 at Barry Town United on Sunday to stay top of the Genero Adran Premier, the club said, with all three goals coming inside the first hour. It was Wrexham's third straight win as the league heads towards Phase Two. Before kick-off, Swansea City's preview listed Wrexham and The New Saints as joint leaders.

Two early goals

Natasha Thomas broke the deadlock after 16 minutes, running on to a pass from Maria Francis-Jones and finishing low into the bottom corner for her sixth goal of the season. Faye Knox doubled the lead inside the next 10 minutes with a powerful shot from distance that beat Barry goalkeeper Molly Arnesen. Erin Murray pulled one back shortly before the break, left free in the penalty area to finish past Liz Craven.

Francis-Jones from the corner

Wrexham restored the two-goal lead within 10 minutes of the restart when Francis-Jones's inswinging corner evaded everyone and went straight in. Arnesen kept the margin there, saving from Ava Suckley before half-time and from substitute Mikayla Cook late on. Millie Davies, also on from the bench, put a late chance into the side netting.

Swansea back to winning ways

Swansea City Women won 2-0 at Cardiff Metropolitan at Cyncoed Campus, the club said, a first win in three matches for Swansea after defeats to Wrexham and Briton Ferry Llansawel. Cardiff Met goalkeeper Violet Bell kept the Swans out before the break, and Chloe Chivers hit the crossbar from distance. Aimee Deacon finally broke through in the second half, exchanging passes with Chivers before slotting past Bell for her fifth goal of the campaign. Eight minutes later Chivers made it 2-0 with a first-time finish from just outside the area, her sixth league goal of the season. Amelia Forkings saved from Evie Henshaw in added time and Caitlin Seaborne cleared the rebound, giving Swansea a first clean sheet since a 4-0 win at Barry three weeks ago.
