Bridgend’s Rhiw car park to open until midnight from November

The Rhiw multi-storey car park in Bridgend town centre will stay open until midnight from 1 November 2026 under a three-month trial. Parking will be free after 6pm, with no ticket required during those evening hours.
The free daytime offer stays, but take a ticket
The existing first three hours of free parking will continue, and the council says tariffs will not rise. The payment system will change from paying on exit to pay and display. Drivers using the free three-hour offer will still need to display a ticket showing that no payment is due. Blue Badge holders and people paying through the app are exceptions to the requirement to display a paper ticket.
RingGo replaces PayByPhone
Bridgend Council is also replacing PayByPhone with RingGo across its car parks. The app will provide an alternative way to pay using a mobile device. More CCTV cameras and security staff during the extended hours are planned at the Rhiw. The council will monitor use before deciding what happens beyond the trial. Midnight opening has not been confirmed as a permanent arrangement.
