Cardiff Half 2027 ballot opens: deadline, fees and payment explained

The ballot for the Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 3 October 2027 is open. Applications close at midnight on Sunday 18 October 2026, with results due by email on Thursday 22 October. These entries are for next year’s race, not this weekend’s event.

Free ballot, paid race place
Applying costs nothing, but runners must provide payment details. Successful applicants are entered automatically and charged £59 through the UK ballot or £70 through the international ballot, plus the registration platform’s booking fee. Places are allocated randomly. Entering sooner does not improve the chance of selection.
Read the conditions before applying
The organiser says ballot withdrawals must be completed by 4pm on Friday 16 October, before the application deadline. It also says successful ballot entries are normally non-refundable, with limited exceptions, and are excluded from its usual cooling-off provision. Use the official registration page below to check the conditions and enter. The page also lists separate charity, affiliated-runner and event-bundle options.

Where this sits
A free ballot application is not a free race entry: successful entrants are automatically charged.
The withdrawal deadline precedes the application closing date.
