Martin Thomas reached the quarter-finals of Challenge Tour 24 in Wigan on Sunday 27 September before Jack Aldridge beat him 5–4. Thomas was the last Welsh player left in the event, going further than the other 13 entrants listed as Welsh in the PDC record.

Four wins before the deciding leg
Thomas beat John O’Shea and Ben Townley 5–1, then defeated Harry Ward and Carl Wilson 5–2. Aldridge ended that sequence in the quarter-final. It was a longer run than Thomas managed in the day’s earlier event, Challenge Tour 23, where he beat Llewellyn Roberts 5–0 before losing by the same score to Jack Tweddell.
Warburton and Davies reach the last 32
Mike Warburton won three matches in Challenge Tour 24 before Cayden Smith beat him 5–2. David Davies defeated Scott Campbell and Radek Szaganski, both 5–2, before Jamie Kay won their last-32 meeting 5–0. Richie Burnett beat Jose van Angeles 5–2 before losing 5–1 to Phil Coward. Burnett, Warburton, Kevin Lane, Daniel Poole and Van Angeles had each reached the last 64 in Challenge Tour 23, the furthest Welsh finish in that event.
