Transport for Wales is warning of delays of up to 60 minutes because of a trespass incident at Conwy on Wednesday 14 October. In its evening service update, the operator says trains cannot run through the area while British Transport Police deal with the incident. TfW expects the incident to last until 8pm, with disruption to services until 9pm. Those are estimates, rather than a confirmed time for normal running to resume.

Alternative buses listed

TfW lists Arriva Bus Wales routes 4 and 4A between Holyhead and Bangor; 5 and 5D between Bangor and Llandudno Junction; 13 between Llandudno Junction and Rhyl; 11C and 11F between Rhyl and Flint; and 11 between Flint and Chester. The operator says eligible rail tickets can be used on those services at no extra cost, but road journeys will take longer. Check the TfW update and Traveline Cymru before travelling.

Pay as you go is different

TfW says pay-as-you-go travel does not cover the alternative local buses. Those passengers must tap out and buy a separate ticket before boarding another operator’s service. Passengers should check their individual train on TfW’s live map or journey planner. The update does not establish that every service elsewhere on the network is running normally.
