Flint seek first win after Fowler exit as Cymru Leagues return

Flint Town United face another winless side, Ammanford, on Saturday in their first Cymru Premier fixture since Lee Fowler’s departure. Kick-off at the Essity Stadium is 2.30pm.

Flint are 15th with two points, according to the FAW’s weekend preview. A 4-1 defeat by Airbus UK Broughton followed a 5-0 loss to The New Saints before the club ended Fowler’s four-year spell in charge.

Ammanford also sit in the bottom three. Their recent 2-2 draw away to fifth-placed Barry Town United offers a better reference point than last Friday’s 5-1 home defeat by Penybont. Neither side has a league win this season.

Colwyn Bay’s winning run faces a test

Colwyn Bay host Haverfordwest County at the Blue Turtle Arena at 2.30pm on Saturday. Bay have won three successive league games and sit sixth, while Haverfordwest are unbeaten in four.

The contrast is between a run of wins and a longer unbeaten sequence. Bay beat Connah’s Quay Nomads, Holywell Town and Barry in their last three games; Haverfordwest’s latest result was a 1-0 win against Holywell. Both Saturday Premier fixtures are listed for live coverage on Cymru Football TV.

Top two meet in the South

Aberystwyth Town host Pure Swansea at Park Avenue on Friday at 8pm. The hosts have won their first five league matches, but Pure lead the table by one point. Both sides are unbeaten in the league, based on the records set out in the FAW preview.

Two more Saturday games to watch

Cymru North leaders Brickfield Rangers host Denbigh Town at Clywedog Park at 2.30pm. Brickfield have won their last three league games 2-0; Denbigh began Eddie Maurice-Jones’s tenure with a 5-2 win over Bala Town.

At the other end of the Cymru South table, Llantwit Major host Llanelli Town at UWL Stadium, also at 2.30pm. Both are seeking their first league win. Llanelli are one point above bottom-placed Major but have played three more games.
