Carmarthenshire energy grants fully committed, but free audits remain open

Capital funding in Carmarthenshire’s Community Renewable Energy Grant programme has been fully committed, the council says. Free energy audits remain available for eligible community buildings, with expressions of interest due by 5pm on 31 October 2026.
First project approved
Dryslwyn Community Shop has secured funding for energy-efficiency measures at its new community-owned premises. The announcement does not give the award amount or confirm that equipment has been installed.
Who can seek an audit
The programme page invites community organisations operating assets in Carmarthenshire to apply. It prioritises regularly used buildings with a clear community benefit and groups willing to consider the audit’s recommendations.
How to apply
Applicants should use the council’s expression-of-interest form and send it to rdpsirgar@carmarthenshire.gov.uk by the deadline. Audits depend on eligibility and the remaining programme budget. An audit does not guarantee a future equipment grant. The council says no capital funding is available at present.
