Carmarthen pumpkin trail: 27 October

St Catherine’s Walk in Carmarthen is hosting a free pumpkin trail with slots at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm, according to Carmarthenshire County Council. Check the organiser’s current arrangements before travelling; the council announcement does not say whether places need to be reserved. The wider programme also includes a Halloween event at Carmarthen Market on Saturday 31 October from 6pm, with face painting, funfair rides and an open-air market. The release does not state the prices of those activities, so the market event should not be treated as wholly free.

Gwersyllt tree event: 28 October

Meet the Supertrees runs from 1pm to 4pm at Gwersyllt Resource Centre, Second Avenue, Wrexham, LL11 4ED. Wrexham Council says entry is free and booking is not required. The Woodland Trust and Gwersyllt Library are hosting activities including wand-making, bird-box building and a nature orienteering trail. A free tree giveaway is also advertised, without a published quantity. Donations towards woodland management are welcome.
