A slow start in wind and rain
Neither side scored for more than half an hour in difficult conditions. Lockwood broke the deadlock in the 35th minute, darting over from a ruck after a Freya Bell carry, and Bell converted for a 7–0 half-time lead. Bell later went off with what the WRU described as looking like a serious leg injury. Wales dominated the scrum in the final quarter after changes from the bench, and Jones finished a driving maul in the 65th minute before Lockwood scored again in the right corner from a Lleucu George pass.
