Wales ran in eight tries without reply to beat Scotland 38-0 in the Men's Celtic Cup at Biggar on Saturday, with debutant Lewis Ingram scoring the first and the last. Ingram, who plays for Wales Students and Bridgend Blue Bulls, became the first player from a Welsh Conference club to represent the Wales men's side in 21 years, Wales Rugby League said.

Five tries in 27 minutes
Ingram crossed in the corner after seven minutes. Will Jones scored in the opposite corner three minutes later, Mike Butt took advantage of a Scottish error in the 12th minute and Sam Grice scored from another error at the first tackle four minutes after that. Taine Woodford finished a last-tackle play in the 27th minute, and Wales led 22-0 at half-time. Ant Walker powered over from a short drop-off pass in the 53rd minute and Oliver Garmston gathered a Scottish last-tackle kick to score in the 58th. Ingram completed his debut with his second try, again in the corner, in the 68th minute. Charlie Newton took over the kicking from Matty Fozard and converted three of his five attempts.
One point from the trophy
The win follows Wales's 44-12 victory over USA the previous weekend, which makes 82 points scored and 12 conceded across the last two Wales internationals. Ireland beat Scotland 46-12 in the opening Celtic Cup match, so Wales need only a draw against Ireland in Merthyr Tydfil next Saturday to win the competition.
