Marathon Eryri has been cancelled after its course management team judged the route unsafe, ending plans for Saturday’s race from Llanberis on 24 October. The organisers’ official statement says wind gusts, tree debris and flooding affected the course. They consulted safety experts before deciding that the event could not go ahead.

The organisers say conditions eased on Friday evening, but the forecast for Saturday had deteriorated considerably. Their safety assessment covered both runners and marshals, some of whom would have been on the course for more than eight hours. They intend to defer all runners’ places into next year’s race and will email further details as soon as they can. The statement sets out that intention; it does not provide a completed transfer process or announce refund terms. Runners should check the organiser’s email and official website for those arrangements before making further plans.
