Gerwyn Price will face Rob Cross in the first round of the European Championship on Thursday 22 October, while Jonny Clayton opens against Niko Springer on Friday 23 October. The PDC’s confirmed schedule places both Welsh players fourth in separate evening sessions at the Westfalenhalle in Dortmund. Each session begins at 6pm BST. Those are session start times, rather than fixed start times for the individual matches.

The possible second-round paths

If Price beats Cross, he will meet either Niels Zonneveld or Cameron Menzies in Saturday’s afternoon session, which starts at noon BST. Clayton would face Josh Rock or Chris Dobey in the Saturday evening session from 6pm BST if he gets past Springer. The order of Saturday’s matches is still to be confirmed. The two Welsh players therefore begin on separate evenings and, if both advance, would also play in different second-round sessions.

UK coverage and the weekend schedule

The 32-player tournament runs from 22 to 25 October, with ITV4 carrying live coverage in the UK. Price’s opener against Cross is a rematch of the 2019 final, according to the PDC. Sunday’s quarter-finals start at noon GMT, with the semi-finals and final in the evening session from 6pm GMT. The clocks go back overnight before Sunday’s play. Match averages, 180s, checkout rates and high checkouts are not yet available for these unplayed ties. The table records opponents and routes, not results.
