Two crew taken to hospital after RAF Hawk crashes on Anglesey

The Defence Secretary confirmed both crew members ejected after the aircraft went down shortly after take-off near RAF Valley on Wednesday.

Two crew members were taken to hospital after an RAF Hawk T2 crashed near RAF Valley on Anglesey on Wednesday 23 September, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed.

Defence Secretary Wes Streeting said the aircraft went down shortly after take-off and both people aboard ejected. He gave the update at the UK Space Power Conference in a speech published by the department on Wednesday evening.

Investigation into the cause

Streeting said an investigation was under way to establish how and why the crash happened. His statement did not give a cause, the crew members’ identities or a detailed account of their injuries.
