Steffan Powell takes over Y Llais as free audience tickets open
Steffan Powell will present the third series of Y Llais on S4C, taking over from Sian Eleri after two series. The broadcaster announced the change on 1 October. Coaches Aleighcia Scott, Bronwen Lewis, Sir Bryn Terfel and Yws Gwynedd will all return.
A new presenter, the same four coaches
Powell’s previous work includes BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat, Radio 5 Live Breakfast and Doctor Who: Unleashed. S4C viewers may also know him from Symud i Gymru and Colli Cymru i’r Môr. Y Llais is the Welsh-language version of The Voice and is made by Boom Cymru, part of ITV Studios. S4C has thanked Eleri for presenting its first two series.
How to join the studio audience
Blind auditions will be recorded on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November at Dragon Studios, Pencoed, near Bridgend. S4C lists two recording sessions each day, with free tickets available through the programme’s official page below. A session lasts around four hours and 20 minutes. Audience members are expected to stay throughout, unless a medical arrangement has been agreed in advance. Free on-site parking is available.
Children under eight cannot attend, and all children must be accompanied by an adult aged at least 18. The studio rules prohibit photography, video and other recordings, and audience members must sign a confidentiality agreement. These are recording dates, not a confirmed television broadcast schedule. The presenter announcement does not give the series’ transmission date.
