Wales face three games in three days for netball World Cup place
Wales start their bid for a place at the 2027 Netball World Cup against Northern Ireland at 17:00 on Friday 25 September. The European qualifier at Playsport Arena in East Kilbride brings four teams together over three days, with the top two earning invitations to the tournament in Sydney.

Three opponents, two places
The Welsh Feathers then face the Republic of Ireland at 15:00 on Saturday before closing against hosts Scotland at 14:00 on Sunday. All times are BST. Each side plays the other three, so qualification is decided by the final standings rather than a separate knockout final. The Scotland game is the last fixture on the published schedule.

Bloxham takes charge
Reinga Bloxham leads Wales as interim head coach, with Sarah Lewis as interim assistant. Wales Netball announced the appointments in August while its search for a permanent head coach continued. Bloxham also coaches the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Dragons, who finished fifth in the 2026 Netball Super League, their best league position since 2014. She was named the competition’s coach of the year. Her recent experience with the national side includes serving as team manager and specialist coach at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
Lewis previously worked as Welsh Feathers assistant coach before taking charge of the U21/23 National Academy. On accepting the interim role, Bloxham said: “We know we have one shot at this, so will be throwing everything at it to ensure we qualify.”

World Netball lists NetballPass coverage for viewers outside the UK. Its event page still says UK viewing arrangements will be announced by Netball Scotland. Check the official qualifier page before purchasing a streaming pass: the international offer excludes the UK. Spectators attending the arena can watch both matches with a day ticket, according to the host’s event announcement.
