Wales weather, Friday 4 September: wet start, then brighter and fresher
Heavy rain and a breeze first thing, then skies brighten from the northwest. Sunny spells and isolated showers later, with a 20C high in Cardiff, Newport and Swansea.

Friday will start wet with some heavy rain around, and breezy at times, the Met Office said. Skies will brighten from the northwest through the morning, leaving sunny spells and isolated showers in the afternoon. It stays breezy, and feels fresher than recently.
Cardiff, Newport and Swansea share a 20C high. Wrexham is a degree cooler at 19C. The Met Office has no warnings in force anywhere in Wales, and Natural Resources Wales has no flood warnings or alerts.
Tonight the odd shower may affect north Wales. Most places stay dry with clear periods, winds easing, and chilly in some rural spots. The Met Office gives a minimum of 9C.
