What to donate

The appeal is for children’s winter coats that are no longer needed and remain in good condition. The council is not asking for damaged or unclean clothing. Its notice does not give an appeal closing date or full opening hours for either drop-off point. The after-4pm instruction is not confirmation that Waterworld accepts donations at any hour.

How the coats reach families

The council says last year’s appeal supplied coats to 156 children, distributed through schools, third-sector organisations and council services. That is last year’s reported total, rather than a count for the current collection. The notice does not describe a direct collection process for families who need a coat. It should not be read as an invitation to collect one from either donation point.

2 checked facts

  1. How does it compare?

    • 156 children is the previous appeal’s reported reach, not this year’s collection count.

  2. Who can change it?

    • Donation and recipient collection are separate processes: notice supplies drop-off instructions but no direct family collection route.
