Ben Sheaf has returned to full training with Wrexham ahead of Saturday’s trip to Blackburn Rovers, Phil Parkinson has confirmed. Max Cleworth and George Thomason took part in only part of Thursday’s session. Their involvement gives Parkinson more players back on the training pitch, but he did not say all three had been cleared for match selection.
Training update, 22 October
- Ben Sheaf
- Full training
- Max Cleworth and George Thomason
- Part of the session
- Josh Windass
- Protective ankle boot
- Nathan Broadhead
- Fitness work on grass
Windass and Broadhead still progressing
Josh Windass is wearing a protective boot for his ankle. Parkinson expects it to come off over the weekend, after which the medical team can assess the ankle and plan his next steps. He has not announced a return date. Nathan Broadhead is doing fitness work on grass after a thigh injury. Striking the ball is the next stage of his recovery, rather than a step Parkinson said he had already completed.
Wrexham head to Ewood Park after beating Preston North End at home last weekend. Parkinson said the free week had allowed the club to manage players carrying knocks and adjust their early-week training. The latest update separates a full training return from partial sessions and individual rehabilitation. It does not confirm a starting side for Blackburn.

Where this sits
Sheaf’s full training return differs from the partial sessions completed by Cleworth and Thomason.
Windass’s expected boot removal and Broadhead’s next ball-striking stage do not establish match fitness.
