Fflamau Penyberth tour: where to see the opera in Wales

The November and December schedule takes in Pwllheli, Rhosllannerchrugog, Bangor, Swansea, Barry, Brecon and Aberystwyth.

Fflamau Penyberth, or The Flames of Penyberth, is scheduled to tour Wales from 19 November to 5 December 2026. OPRA Cymru describes Gareth Glyn’s new opera as a retelling of the 1936 Penyberth arson incident, marking its 90th anniversary.

The organiser names Robin Gruffudd Hughes, Emyr Wyn Jones and Robyn Lyn among the cast.

November performances

19 November: Neuadd Dwyfor, Pwllheli. 20 November: The Stiwt, Rhosllannerchrugog. 24 November: Pontio, Bangor. 26 November: Taliesin, Swansea. 27 November: The Memo, Barry. 28 November: Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon.

December performances

3 December: Aberystwyth Arts Centre. 5 December: Neuadd Dwyfor, Pwllheli.
