Glamorgan closed the second day at Taunton 217 runs behind Somerset, with nine second-innings wickets standing and two days left to save the match. Somerset were bowled out for 441 in 109.1 overs, a first-innings lead of 247 over the 194 Glamorgan had made on Wednesday. Glamorgan have batted 30 of that deficit back.
Four batters built the Somerset total. Tom Lammonby was caught and bowled by Dan Douthwaite for 95, five short of a tenth first-class hundred. Josh Thomas made 59, James Rew 52, and Archie Vaughan 68, the highest first-class score of Vaughan's season, before Vaughan was stumped in the 110th over. Mason Crane was the pick of the Glamorgan attack with four wickets for 95 runs.
Crane then opened the second innings and lasted six overs. He was caught for 14 by Lammonby, fielding close in at silly point, off the bowling of Jack Leach, to the last ball of the day. Glamorgan closed on 30 for one, with Asa Tribe 16 not out from 29 balls.
