Humphrey Ker leaves Wrexham boards as he explains decision

Humphrey Ker is stepping down from Wrexham AFC’s board and as a trustee of the club’s foundation. Wrexham confirmed the departures on 25 September, ending a five-year association during which he helped bring Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds to the club.

His explanation
Ker said the way the club had evolved and was now structured had made it “progressively harder for me to make a positive contribution”. He said he felt watching from a distance was now the right course and would remain a supporter.
The statement explains his decision in his own terms. It does not announce a replacement or allege wrongdoing by anyone at the club.
From takeover to the Championship
Wrexham credits Ker with a key role in bringing the owners to the club in 2021, when ownership moved from the supporters’ trust. He also appeared in Welcome to Wrexham. His association covered three consecutive promotions from the National League to the Championship.
Mac and Reynolds thanked Ker for his contribution from the beginning of the project. The announcement concerns the club board and foundation trusteeship; it does not announce a change of ownership.
