A man’s body was recovered from Llyn Glaslyn in Eryri on Sunday 27 September following a search involving police, mountain rescue volunteers and underwater search specialists. North Wales Police confirmed the recovery in a statement published on Monday. The force said the coroner had been informed and enquiries were under way.

Search resumed on Sunday

Police received a report shortly before 7pm on Saturday 26 September that a man had got into difficulty in the lake and was missing. Emergency services and Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team began searching the area. The operation resumed on Sunday morning with the Joint Underwater Search Team involved. Chief Inspector Steve Pawson expressed condolences to the man’s family and friends and thanked the emergency responders and mountain rescue volunteers. The police statement does not establish a cause of death.
