Free spiking-prevention event opens to Welsh venue staff and taxi drivers

The Powys conference takes place on 12 October. Hospitality, security and public-service workers can register for a limited number of free places.

Venue staff, taxi drivers and others working in Wales’ night-time economy can book a free place at a spiking-prevention and safety conference in Powys on Monday 12 October. Powys County Council and the charity Stamp Out Spiking will host the event at the Members’ Centre, Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Places are limited.

Who can attend

The invitation covers hospitality and security staff, taxi and private-hire drivers, police, health and licensing professionals, education providers, charities and community organisations. The programme covers prevention, reporting and safeguarding, with a panel discussion and an opportunity to put questions to speakers. Those announced include Stamp Out Spiking founder Dawn Dines, Ask for Angela founder Hayley Crawford and public-safety campaigner Figen Murray.
