The Royal Shakespeare Company has shared a performance of the traditional Welsh folk love song Ar Lan Y Mor by members of its As You Like It cast. The company posted the clip on its official Instagram account on Thursday 22 October. It comes from the current production at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The company behind the songs

Daniel Evans directs the all-male cast, with Jonathan Groff playing Rosalind and Fisayo Akinade playing Celia. The company’s cast announcement names Luke McCall as Amiens and Theo Jamieson as composer, arranger and music supervisor. The production opened on 26 September and runs until Saturday 7 November 2026.

Two Welsh performances to watch

The RSC also shared a cast performance of Myfanwy on 14 October. That is a separate, earlier clip, rather than a second release today. Both performances are available through the company’s official Instagram posts, linked below alongside the production information. The new Ar Lan Y Mor clip gives audiences another chance to hear Welsh music from the company during the current run.
