Leo Walta has left Swansea City on loan for Los Angeles FC, a move that runs until January 2027 and carries an option to buy. Swansea City confirmed the move on deadline day, hours before the window shuts at 11pm.

The option is the part that matters. A loan with a purchase clause can become permanent without Swansea City needing another window to be open, which is what separates this from a straightforward season out. Swansea City sit third in the Championship on seven points from three games and have conceded one goal, the fewest in the division, so this is a squad trimmed rather than a side dismantled.

No fee or loan payment has been stated by either club.
