Tŷ Pawb awarded £72,000 to design market hall improvements
Tŷ Pawb has been awarded £72,000 to commission designs for changes to its North Arcade entrance and the Flexible Space inside the Wrexham market hall and arts centre.

The money comes from the Arts Capital Investment Fund announced by Arts Council of Wales and the Welsh Government. It pays for the design phase only. Tŷ Pawb says further funding would be needed before construction could begin.
What the design will examine
The preferred approach from an earlier feasibility study is called “Transform and extend”. It includes moving the entrance threshold towards Chester Street, creating a larger arrival area, improving views through the building and providing spaces that can change between play, performances, exhibitions and markets.
The venue says the current number of market stalls would be retained. De Matos Ryan carried out the feasibility study after discussions with traders, community groups, artists, families and other users.
Tender and timetable
Wrexham Council opened an invitation for qualified firms to bid for the design work through Sell2Wales on 16 September. The design phase is required to finish by March 2027.
What remains undecided
The grant does not approve or fund the building work. Tŷ Pawb says Bubbles Dog Grooming would be moved to another unit inside the venue if the preferred scheme proceeds and construction money becomes available. The business has been consulted about that possibility.
Market and arts centre
Tŷ Pawb opened in 2018 and combines markets, arts and community facilities. The venue says nearly 30 independent traders currently operate there.
