Wrexham residents have two upcoming repair dates to consider before throwing away broken household items. In guidance published on 13 October for International E-Waste Day, Wrexham Council lists a Lend and Mend repair café at Tŷ Pawb on Saturday 17 October, from 11am to 2.30pm.

A second date in Caia Park

Repair Café Wrecsam is listed for Saturday 14 November, from 11am to 1pm, at Caia Park Centre, Prince Charles Road, LL13 8TH. The council says volunteer repairers will try to fix broken or damaged items for free. A successful repair is not guaranteed. Check the organiser’s latest information before travelling, particularly whether a particular item can be accepted. The council links to the Lend and Mend and Repair Café Wrecsam pages in its guidance.

Recycling centres and proof of address

Electrical items can also be taken to the council’s three household recycling centres: Bryn Lane on Wrexham Industrial Estate, Brymbo and Plas Madoc. Bryn Lane is open from 8am to 8pm year-round. Brymbo and Plas Madoc use their October-to-February hours of 9am to 4pm. All three are for Wrexham residents, who must bring proof of address, such as a utility bill. The council also accepts donations of working electrical items for the Nightingale House Hospice reuse shop at the centres. Ask an attendant where to leave them.
