Sarah Boswell steps down as Wales Netball and Dragons chief executive
Sarah Boswell has stepped down as chief executive of Wales Netball and the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Dragons after two years in charge. Wales Netball announced the departure on 1 October, saying she was leaving to pursue opportunities outside the organisation. It said she told the board of her intentions at the beginning of September.

Chair Helen Williams said the senior leadership team and boards would continue to lead the organisation. Wales Netball has promised a further update on the transition but has not named a replacement in its statement. Boswell oversaw the development of Ymladd 2030, the organisation’s strategy for the sport. In her departure statement, she thanked colleagues and wished both organisations and Welsh netball well.
The timing matters
The announcement follows Wales’ failure to qualify for the 2027 World Cup, confirmed after a 55-48 defeat to Scotland on 27 September. But the departure statement dates Boswell’s notification to the board to earlier that month. It does not link her decision to the qualifying results. Wales Netball separately announced a review of its summer international campaigns after the qualifier.

Where this sits
Board notified at beginning of September, before the 27 September qualification outcome; no causal link asserted.
The departure covers both the governing body and Dragons, while the replacement remains unannounced.
