New Wrecswyl festival brings Welsh music and family activities to Tŷ Pawb

Band Pres Llareggub, Papur Wal and Tara Bandito are among the acts announced for the first festival on 7 November.

A new Welsh-language festival will take place at Tŷ Pawb in Wrexham on Saturday 7 November, bringing music, literature, activities for children and sessions for people learning Welsh into one programme.

Who is playing

The first Wrecswyl will close with performances curated by FOCUS Wales. The announced artists are Andy Hickie, Tara Bandito, Hudol, Morgan Elwy a’r Band, Papur Wal and Band Pres Llareggub.

For families and learners

Menter Iaith Fflint a Wrecsam will coordinate the Pentref Plant children’s activities. Coleg Cambria will run sessions where learners can practise their Welsh, while Wrexham University will organise literary sessions. Local choirs are also due to perform during the day. The council says the event is intended for fluent speakers, learners and people interested in experiencing Welsh-language culture.

What is still to be announced

Ticket prices and a timetable have not yet been announced. Further programme details, venues and timings are due to follow through Wrecswyl’s Facebook and Instagram accounts.
