Wrexham sign Callum O'Hare, and Elliot Lee leaves after 152 games

Wrexham have signed the midfielder Callum O'Hare from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and registrations. The 28-year-old has signed a three-year contract with an option for a further year, and is Phil Parkinson's seventh summer signing.

Sheffield United's manager Chris Wilder had said Wrexham were "blanket bombing" the position while the bid was live. Wrexham got the player. O'Hare made 45 league appearances and scored eight goals for the Blades last season, and scored in both legs of the 2025 Championship play-off semi-final against Bristol City, a tie Sheffield United won by a record aggregate.

"The Club's so big and well known, and I just really wanted to come here," O'Hare said. "I want to help the Club go in the right direction and hopefully get what everyone wants, promotion to the Premier League."

He arrives as one of the club's most decorated recent players leaves. Elliot Lee has departed by mutual termination of his contract after 152 appearances and 41 goals since signing in the summer of 2022. Lee scored twice on his debut against Eastleigh, got the winner in a 3-2 against Notts County, equalised in the 3-1 win over Boreham Wood that sealed promotion, and scored on the final day of the 111-point season. He won three promotions at the Racecourse.

O'Hare is the second signing of the day, after the defender Joe Worrall from Burnley, and the fourth Wrexham move in 48 hours counting the exits of Conor Coady and Lee. Wrexham are 20th in the Championship with two points from three games and have conceded four goals. The window shut at 11pm.
