Caerphilly names next areas for cleaning teams and how to request work

Caerphilly Council has named the next areas for its Cleaner and Greener teams, with visits planned over the coming month to Twyn Carno, Risca East, Moriah and Pontlottyn, Risca West, Darran Valley, Crosskeys, Abercarn and Bargoed.

How to request work

Residents should contact a local councillor, who can pass requests to the teams for assessment. The programme covers tasks such as weed and graffiti removal, sweeping, vegetation clearance and cleaning signs. A request is not a guarantee that work will be approved.

What has been completed?

In its 23 September update, the council said every ward had received its first scheduled week of work. Each ward is allocated two weeks a year, with a second round due later in the programme year.

Councillors have submitted 389 requests on residents’ behalf since the programme year began. The council says 212 have been completed; the others remain in assessment or delivery. These are requests, not a count of streets cleaned.

The announcement does not give street-by-street dates. Residents seeking a specific location or task should raise it with their ward councillors.
