No trains from Cardiff to Bridgend via Pontyclun this weekend
No trains will run between Cardiff Central and Bridgend via Pontyclun on Saturday 19 or Sunday 20 September, Transport for Wales says. Engineering work closes every line on that route for the weekend.

Replacement buses and the Barry route
Replacement buses will run between Cardiff Central and Bridgend via Pontyclun. A reduced train service will run between the two cities via Barry, with longer journey times. TfW warns that replacement vehicles may be busier than usual and advises passengers to allow extra time.
Saturday service changes
TfW plans two trains an hour between Cardiff Central and Barry Island, two between Coryton and Penarth, and four between Cardiff Central and Rhymney or Bargoed. Caerphilly to Penarth trains will not run.
One train an hour will run between Cardiff Central and Bridgend, calling only at Barry, Rhoose Cardiff International Airport and Llantwit Major. Every two hours that service will extend to or from Swansea. Maesteg to Cardiff Central trains will run only between Maesteg and Bridgend.
London to Swansea reduced to hourly
Great Western Railway trains will also avoid the Pontyclun route. TfW's planned works page says London Paddington to Swansea will run once an hour and divert via Barry without calling there. Several early and evening trains are altered, so passengers should check the journey planner before setting out.
