TfW cancelled Carmarthen to Pembroke Dock trains after a train fault, with buses to mid-morning

The 06:15 from Swansea ended at Carmarthen, and the 09:00 from Pembroke Dock started there at 10:24. TfW cancelled the line both ways and put Davies Coaches on until 10:00.

Transport for Wales cancelled trains in both directions between Carmarthen and Pembroke Dock after a fault on a train. TfW gave 07:30 for the end of the incident and 10:00 for the end of the disruption. Those were estimates rather than a promised clear, and the 07:30 had already passed when TfW was read at 08:25 without TfW moving it. The 06:15 Swansea to Pembroke Dock terminated at Carmarthen. The 09:00 Pembroke Dock to Cardiff Central started from Carmarthen at 10:24 instead.

What to do

TfW organised buses between Carmarthen and Pembroke Dock at no extra cost, provided by Davies Coaches. It listed a bus arriving at Carmarthen at about 07:20, and a departure from Pembroke Dock at about 09:00. TfW said the arrangements were in place on services until 10:00. If one of TfW's trains is delayed or cancelled and you arrive at your destination more than 15 minutes later than scheduled, you can claim through Delay Repay, the industry compensation scheme. If you decide not to travel because of this disruption and the ticket is unused, TfW says you can get a fee-free refund from wherever you bought it.

Update, 12:50 on Friday 4 September: TfW's disruption window closed at 10:00 and the Carmarthen to Pembroke Dock entry has come off its live service status page, checked at 12:50. TfW has published no all clear. This brief has been put into the past tense.
