Transport for Wales says trains are being cancelled in both directions between Bridgend and Swansea following an incident at Pyle on Thursday 15 October. Services may be delayed by up to 60 minutes.

Allow extra time and check your train

The operator estimates that the incident will last until 7.30pm, with disruption expected until 8pm. These are forecasts, not a guarantee that the line or every service will return to normal at those times. Check live departures before travelling.

Tickets and alternatives

TfW advertises ticket acceptance on GWR between Cardiff Central and Carmarthen at no extra cost. That does not guarantee an unaffected alternative journey. Its pay-as-you-go rules are different: TfW says customers switching to another operator must tap out at the same station within an hour of tapping in and buy a separate ticket before boarding.

If you abandon the journey

TfW says passengers who decide not to travel because of the disruption can seek a fee-free refund for an unused ticket from the original seller. Its live update also links to Delay Repay. Use the operator’s live page for changes to reopening estimates and any replacement arrangements.
